コードバンを楽しむために

使用する素材は、コードバンと麻糸、綿麻糸のみです。コードバンの経年変化を楽しむために、ファスナーやホックなどの留め具類は使用していません。

革の厚み

革の裁断から縫製まで、全て手作業で製作しています。革の厚みは1.0ほどの部位から2.0mmを超える部位まで使用する部分によって異なります。
漉きなどはせずに、そのまま厚みで使用しますので、部位ごとに自然な厚みの違いが生まれてきます。

コバの仕上げ

コバ(革の断面)も経年変化をしていきます。使用する中で自然な変化を楽しむために、着色やコーティングなどでの処理は施さず、もとの色をそのままに磨いて仕上げています。

ナチュラルスタンプ

コードバンには、革の表面や裏面に独特の表情があります。表面に見られる天然の毛穴やシワや傷、色合いの不均一さ、裏面にある染料の跡など、これらはHorweenのコードバンの特徴でもあります。コードバンの個性をお楽しみください！

To enjoy shell

The only materials we use are shell cordovan and linen threads / cotton blended linen threads. Metal fittings such as fasteners and buttons are not used to enjoy the aging of the shell.  

Leather thickness

Every processes from leather cutting to sewing are done by my hands. The thickness of the leather varies depending on the part used, from the thin part about 1.0 mm to the thick part over 2.0 mm. Since it is used as it is with the thickness, a natural difference in thickness will be created for each part.  

 Edge Finishing

Edges also change over time. In order to enjoy the natural changes during use, edges are polished, burnishing only and finished without any coloring or coating.

Natural stamps

Cordovan has a unique look on the front and back / reverse of the shell. Natural pores, wrinkles and scratches on the front surface, uneven shades, and traces of dye on the reversed side are some of the hallmarks of Horween's cordovan. Enjoy the uniqueness of the shell!
